Standard Topper Sizes
Every template is 1:1 with no bleed. What you design is what prints.
Size Chart
Pick by cutter size; sheet counts assume Letter paper at 100% scale with default margins. Tighter margins and spacing fit more.
| Template | Inches | Best for | Per Letter sheet |
|---|---|---|---|
| 51mm round | 2" | Mini cookies, favor boxes, Valentine sets | ~12 toppers |
| 76mm round | 3" | The standard decorated cookie | ~6 toppers |
| 102mm round | 4" | Large statement and platter cookies | ~2 toppers |
| 76mm square | 3" | Square cutters, photo toppers | ~6 toppers |
| Custom | any | Odd cutters: enter any dimensions (Maker plans and up) | varies |
Matching Topper to Cutter
Undershoot the cutter slightly. A topper 3 to 6mm smaller than the cookie leaves a visible ring of icing around the print. It frames the design, hides small placement misses, and keeps the topper edge off the cookie's curve.
Measure the cutter, not the cookie. Baked cookies spread. If your 76mm cutter bakes out to 80mm, designing at 76mm gives you exactly the icing ring described above. Measure across the cutting edge, not the outside of the handle band.
Always print at 100%. In the print dialog choose "Actual Size" and turn off "fit to page." The PDF is laid out 1:1, so any scaling option will silently shrink every topper on the sheet.
Sizing Questions
What size should a cookie topper be?
Match or slightly undershoot your cookie cutter. A topper 3 to 6mm smaller than the cutter leaves a ring of icing visible around the edge, which frames the print and forgives small placement misses.
Why are cookie topper sizes in millimeters?
Cookie cutters and edible-image sheets are commonly sold in millimeters. CookieMaker displays cookie templates in mm so the number on your cutter's packaging is the number you design at. Inch equivalents are shown alongside.
How do I make sure toppers print at the correct size?
Print the PDF at 100% scale (Actual Size). Turn off any "fit to page" or "shrink to printable area" option in the print dialog. Templates are 1:1 with no bleed, so a 76mm design measures exactly 76mm on paper.
